Throughout Lucas Reiner’s three decade career, he has produced several notable series of chromatically variegated paintings that reflect his perennial inspirations including contemporary urban trees. He has used a range of media– watercolor, oil, photography, etc. –to examine the formal collision between organic growth and the harsh strictures of contemporary urban life embodied by the trees that line city streets. Reiner has exhibited internationally, and his work is represented in public and private collections, including the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Reiner lives and works between Los Angeles and Berlin.
